Basic Food Questions to Keep You On Track

Where is the protein? Where are your veggies? Where are the carbs? Where are your fats coming from? And, am I eating slowly? Learn the answers to these very important questions.

1. Where is the protein?

Are you about to eat at least 1 palm sized portion of protein? Women = 1 palm size / Men = 2 palm sizes

2. Where are your veggies?

Are you about to eat at least half a plate or more of veggies? They can be prepared any way you like.

3. Where are the carbs?

If you have fat to lose but haven’t just worked out, eat less pasta, bread, rice, and other starches. Opt to eat more veggies instead. If you have just worked out; a fist size of a starchy carb is fineJ!

4. Where are your fats coming from?

Today and every day you need some fats from various foods, prioritizing whole foods sources like eggs, meats, fish, olives, EVOO, nuts and seeds. Spread them out over the course of the day.

5. Am I eating slowly?

Check in with your hunger….sit down, relax, and take your time eating; 15-20 minutes for a meal is about right. Make sure you stop when you feel satisfied…The rest will wait for you when you are hungry again…
